Are we going to be Winners or Losers????

After a long time i feel like restarting my blogging again!!!!

In last 6 months i experienced lot many new things, and also had a opportunity of reading lot new books related to business,marketing and leadership.

All these books repeatedly explaining only one fact in different ways and contexts.The winner is the one who stands apart.

Many of the winners do this naturally!!!.

How we can achieve this???

Start Exploring the world!!!.Many of us are very comfortable in doing the same things which we used to do for years together for a very simple reason that we are so comfortable in doing that.In that process we are missing one important fact that any process/systems/work/methods will become obsolete if it is not being modified in accordance to the time/situation/market/people.

Think for a moment,is there anything which was considered as a best practice in 50′s,60′s are adoptable on today’s world????

are we comfortable in we living the life the way it was way back???

Humanity needs change and improvement constantly.it should reflect in whatever you do.Winners see to that they are adopting it constantly.

Im not talking only about the the industries where im into.anywhere the thumb rule is to have contineous improvements and changes.

Be it on foods,education,entertainment,lifestyle,technology,dressing,transportation…………………..the list goes on!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now think for a moment,

have we did something which has  positively improved or changed in our personal life/business etc.,say in last one week??in last month??,in last 6 months?????????????

anything which you do in improving or changing something positively will tag you with that change!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the more you do the more you stand apart!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The More you practice the more it will be instantaneous and natural!!!!!!!!!

Accountable!!!

All leaders are accountable.leadership comes with faith and trust.no one can become a leader with out he being faithful to his followers and trustable.

In order to make it possible one has to make himself accountable towards his followers.many Misunderstand this fact and thinks that leadership is making others accountable towards him.it is vice versa.it is because the leader is accountable his followers are.

Accountability is proving your team that you are also following what you say.leaders are not teachers.leaders are leaders.it is not necessary for a teacher to follow what he teach.but for a leader it is very important.

If your followers found what you are telling is only meant for them and not for you,then there are obvious chances for them not to follow you.

Many a leaders fail because of this Particular reason.tata’s are sucessful because they made ramadurai’s and muthuraman’s trusting them as they are trusting each other.same is applicable to ambani’s,mahindra’s,gandhi’s,or for a matter of fact any succesful leaders.

For any organization to be successful it is very important for them to have a great leader and a very proper downline.if you try to analyze the collapse of great organisations you will identify this.

You being accountable to your downline gives you and your team an edge over others.when you make them feel you are responsible for their growth,they will makes them selves responsible towards you.

Please remember we all are leaders on our Level.accountability is meant for all.not only for the ones who are sitting on the top.even it you are a manager,you are a leader to your team.

Does leaders negotiate?

one of the most important qualification to a leader is negotiaton.infact leaders are the only best negotiators.

They negotiate in a very different manner.let me explain you better.

Once the vice chairman of mahindra group,Mr.Anand Mahindra told this way.”Negotiating is something which is being done not only to clinch the deal,but at times it helps to understand about the deal much better which helps us in arriving to a conclusion on whether to move ahead or backout.

Remember one thing.winning is not getting something all the time.sometimes it is considered only when you say no to it.

Negotiation is a process in which two party engage in a conversation in order to understand better about the opportunity,offerings and obligations associated to it.

Only after analysing the three O’s some one can decide on whether to go ahead or not.

As I said earlier,winning is not say yes to all.at times you need to say no.you will say that only if you know how to negotiate!!!!!!!!

Authority:

Many of us get confused between authority and Power.When you use your authority properly you will get Power.many a people try otherwise.No Leader will make the world know how authoritative he/she is

You might be reading the news on the committee appointed by Ratan Tata and N.R.Narayanamoorthy to identify their successors.Do you think that they dont have an ability to find one next to them???Ratan will ensure 5 Times before he conclude on Noel as it is not only his family legacy but also our country’s legacy is at stake now.(Tata Group is Truly a successful Multinational after their international acquisitions.)NRN will be more than happy to announce Kamath as his Successor than Announcing his Son. Even though they have the fullest authority  in taking whatever decisions they want,They don’t do that way because they are true Leaders.All Leaders Will Listen to their Ministers even though they have the ability to take decisions.They will spend their time in Giving Authorities to people than taking authorities.

A True Leader is the one who is not only successful in demonstrating his leadership abilities but who also creates many leaders around him.

We might see many organisations,which haven’t  sustained their growth rate after a generation.You can in fact name many………

Because of Various Reasons i don’t want to name them directly.But if you see all those failed groups,you can identify one common thing.It is their failure in identifying their successors and making the company more professional in approach.

If you want to be a Leader,Try differentiating the Authority and Power and Exercise your Authority Discreetly than you making it loud.Authorities can be felt only thru results.

Accountability:

All  Leaders are accountable.anyone who transfer the problems to others cannot be a leader.Also if someone dont know how to take decisions he can never be a leader.Leaders Are ones who takes decisions and accept that its his decision even if it is going wrong.accountability is all about acceptance.

It needs GUTS.All companies has bureaucracy to the greatest levels.So It is essential for a leader to go and take the onus of the Decision.Remember,Who takes the Onus will get the Ownership.

To My Knowledge,in major companies the Top Management is interested in knowing what’s happening all around than just let it happen.i have seen myself like this many a times around me.There are people who are in top level positions,want to establish themselves thru this.

They dont know what to do.even if someone starts doing something there also they will go and muddle that jus for the sake of they having the final word on it.

If you want to be a leader,take decisions at the right time and execute it regardless to the criticism and comments.People who are trying to bossing around you will automatically shut their mouth once you start executing.

Being accountable means, having GUTS!!!
